This beautiful compact is vintage circa 1950s/60s. It's fashioned from gold plated metal and is enameled on the top with butterflies, flowers and leaves. The mirror inside is beveled and the original maribou puff and powder screen are present. There is a small stamp inside which reads Made Italy. I thought the compact might be gold plated sterling as it's heavy but I find no silver marks. It measures 3 inches in diameter and the condition is very good with no problems as the compact was never used.
